Dr. Tara is an Assistant Professor in Quantitative Research Methods at California State University, Fullerton. She has taught courses such as Quantitative Research Methods, Advanced Research Methods, Interpersonal Communication Theories and Research, Intercultural Communication, Relational Communication, Business Communication, and Public Speaking.

Her research expertise revolves around the intersection of intercultural/cross-cultural communication with interpersonal interactions and relationship foci. She is also heavily involved in social media studies and communication technologies research.

Dr. Tara is proficient in utilizing various statistical analyses and analyzing interview data. Her recent study “Conceptualizing and Operationalizing Empathetic Expressions: Scale Development, Validation, and Message Evaluation,” a theory and scale construction piece, has won a top paper award at the national convention. She has won three grant awards in 2016.
