Making Food with the Mind : connecting food 3D printer with BCI
Making Food with Mind : connecting food 3D printer with BCI
We present a mind controlled 3D printer that translate EEG signals from the user into 3D printed food. The system use the machine learning algorithm that has been trained on the emotional EEG dataset to classify the emotion of the user in order to make decision for the shape and size of food. This research contributes to HCI community by introducing the opportunity of combining affective brain-computer interface with the 3D fabrication technology enable the automation of mind to object materialization. 2) By presenting the mind controlled 3D printer that focuses on food fabrication, we show 3 key implementations, use cases, and user’s perception that would guide the future research on HCI and food creation. 3)Finally, we conceptualize “Augmented Eating”, our vision on the future of mind, machine, and food.
